Congrats! After all the planning, hard work and anticipation of your nuptials — your wedding day is finally just hours away.

Even if you have a wedding planner, the day before your wedding can be hectic. You’re likely running around and taking care of last-minute details, and going through your mental checklist to make sure you haven’t forgotten anything.

Even the most organized brides and grooms can be overwhelmed.

The key is to have everything organized no more than 24 hours before your wedding so you can be mentally and physically present on your Big Day. Here’s a guide on how to prepare for your wedding day eve so you can alleviate as much stress as possible on your official wedding day.

Organize, Organize, Organize.

We can’t stress this enough. Separate and organize all items you’ll need on your wedding day, including your decor, favors, gifts and anything else that will be on display. Consider printing or emailing instructions for how you want everything laid out. That way you, your planning planner or the person you’ve delegated to help out will know where to place things and won’t run to you with a million questions.

Delegate duties.

You’ll want to relax as much as you can right before you walk down the aisle. Delegate wedding tasks to friends, family members or your wedding party. Make a list and clearly communicate what needs to be done, including when and where.

Drop everything off at your venue.

If your venue provides the space to store your decor before the wedding, including wedding signs, centerpieces, favors and anything else that needs to be set up — try to do this the day before your wedding. If you’re getting ready at the venue, you may also consider dropping off your wedding dress, veil and shoes. The same goes for your wedding party wardrobe if they’re changing at the venue as well. Remember, you can delegate this duty to someone else so you have one less item on your to-do list.

Don’t forget to clean your wedding rings.

Since your photographer will be taking a ton of pictures of your wedding rings, make sure to drop off your bands at your jeweler to have them professionally cleaned. It should only take a few minutes to get them back to sparkling clean.

Steam your veil, wedding dress and/or suit.

The last thing you want is to put on your wedding attire only to look like a crumpled mess. Ask your wedding planner if he/she will provide a steamer and whether they can steam your dress or suit for you. If not, you can buy a handheld steamer like this one on Amazon.

Don’t make last-minute calls.

Make all your last-minute calls well before the eve of your wedding day. You don’t need the stress of tying up loose ends night the day before you walk down the aisle. The potential for anxiety may also ruin your much needed beauty sleep.

Pack for your wedding day and honeymoon.

This is one of the most important steps since you’ll likely be away from your home on your wedding day, and won’t be able to run back if you need anything. We recommend packing an outfit you’ll wear when getting ready, pajamas, an outfit the day after your wedding, makeup remover, toiletries, undergarments, comfy shoes and a phone charger.

Remember to also pack your wedding rings and wedding day emergency kit (so you’re ready for unexpected mishaps).

Pro Tip: If you’re taking off from your venue to your honeymoon, don’t forget your passport and an outfit for the plane. You’ll also want to call your cell phone company and credit cards if you’re flying internationally.

Don’t forget your wedding vows.

Don’t forget to pack your wedding vows! We recommend printing them out instead of reading them from your phone just in case of any technology issues. The hard copy of your vows can also serve as a memento of your wedding day. We also think it looks more sincere and touching when vows are read from a piece of paper or vow book.

Check in to your hotel.

Once you check in to your hotel try and relax as much as possible. Schedule a spa day, journal or do some yoga.

Get enough rest.

Eat a full meal the day before your wedding just in case anxiety curbs your appetite or you don’t have time to eat on your wedding day. Make sure to get as much sleep as possible so you’re ready to take on your Big Day and look your best.

Although this is a guide on how to prepare for your wedding day eve, it’s also important to know that on your actual wedding day you should do all you can to relax and mentally prepare for one of the most important days of your life.

Plan for a healthy and hearty breakfast and/or lunch. Meditate or do another round of yoga. Continue to delegate wedding tasks. Most importantly, let things go. No matter how organized you are — hiccups, challenges and obstacles will happen on your wedding day. It’s important to remember your wedding day is about celebrating your love with your future spouse, and not executing the perfect party for your wedding guests.
