Kendall Jenner’s Risque Wedding Guest Dress
Don’t be that wedding guest. The one who tries to upstage the bride.
When influencer and entrepreneur Lauren Perez posted pictures of her wedding on Instagram, commenters were more focused on one particular wedding guest and not the bride herself.
Kendall Jenner created waves on social media with her barely-there black Mônot dress. People flocked to the comments, including one person who wrote the attire was “blatantly disrespectful to the bride.”
But now Jenner is clapping back at her critics. The 26-year-old celebrity and model apparently asked for permission before showing up to the nuptials in the cut-out dress. Jenner wrote “@laurenperez obvi asked for your approval in advance too. We love a beach wedding."
As for Perez, she confirmed that she didn’t mind Jenner’s decision and responded to one commenter that Jenner “LOOKED STUNNING AND I LOVED IT!” Perez has since turned off comments under the post.
But the explanation still isn’t good enough for some people who feel Jenner’s dress was inappropriate. A commenter on TikTok wrote that the dress was “wrong for all weddings” and accused Jenner of “trying to be the main character like all the time.”
What’s more is that Jenner was one of Perez’s bridesmaids, which meant the Kardashians’ younger sister chose not to wear the more appropriate blue satin, strapless bridesmaid dress for the reception.
Would you allow your bridesmaids to change into something else? And if they asked for permission to wear something risqué, how would you deal with it?
Ultimately, the choice is up to you. It’s typically an unwritten rule that the wedding party should remain in their attire until the end of the wedding day for pictures and video. But if your bridesmaid requests a change of clothes, it might be a good idea to ask what she plans to wear.
In case you’re worried you could have a Kendall Jenner moment at your own wedding.
